Weather the Seasons with TRP HVAC

HVACWhether you’re delivering 10 yards of concrete across town or 40,000 pounds of cargo across the country, you need a comfortable work environment to be alert and productive. Truck operators spend a great deal of time in their cabs and behind the wheel, so maintaining a consistent and comfortable cab temperature is important for driver productivity, health and safety.

Truck and bus operators need HVAC system replacement components made to deal with the thermal effects of large glass areas and thin insulation, whether in the North, where winters are cold and wet, or the South, where summers are hot and humid.

TRP offers OEM-quality heating, ventilation and air conditioning system components for all makes of trucks and buses, including condensers, compressors, heater cores, receiver dryers, blower motors and air compressor clutches. Engineered and tested to be efficient and environmentally friendly, TRP’s HVAC replacement parts are manufactured and tested to meet or exceed industry standards.

Receiver dryers

Anytime the HVAC system is opened, you should replace the truck’s receiver dryer. The receiver dryer is designed to store excess refrigerant, filter out contaminants and absorb moisture. Once an HVAC system has been opened, it becomes too easy for the receiver dryer to get saturated with moisture. A saturated dryer will cause acid build-up in the A/C system, which will often cause a plugged expansion valve and a possible seized compressor.

TRP receiver dryers feature a spring-loaded design that keeps desiccant under pressure. This prevents desiccant from moving around and becoming pulverized into a finer power and escaping from the dryer. Loose desiccant can clog orifice tubes and expansion valves and eventually contaminate the compressor. TRP receiver dryers have an amount of desiccant that’s appropriate for the intended application.

Other aftermarket replacements may look similar, but feature inexpensive designs with canisters that are too small or too big and have inappropriate amounts of desiccant. If the canister is too small, the flow of refrigerant is restricted, resulting in poor performance. Too large and the system won’t cool properly.

Blower motors

The TRP HVAC program also features replacement blower motors that operate to industry specifications, ensuring the windshield defrosts quickly and completely. This is important to help get your truck up and running quickly while still providing clear view of the road and side mirrors.

Since the specifications for the shaft, case, insulation and rotation are the same as the OEM parts, you don’t have to replace the blower wheel or make other costly system modifications when installing a TRP blower motor.

The performance and power supply of TRP blower motors match those on original blower motors, so they last as long as the motors they replace and produce the same amount of airflow. TRP blower motors also include radio frequency interference protection, so you won’t get that annoying whining sound over your radio.

Heater cores

TRP heater cores provide strong, consistent heating by using a “blend-air” system for temperature control, a design that’s been used successfully for years in the automotive industry. This system eliminates the need for a water valve for regulating coolant flow through the heater core. And TRP heater cores are made of aluminum alloy, so they’re strong and lighter weight, a key consideration for many truck and bus operators.

HVAC compressors and air compressor clutches

When truck operators need to replace their HVAC compressors or compressor clutches, they should consider TRP components. The TRP compressor clutch offers ASTM International-tested connector-corrosion protection, a rugged forged pulley, high-torque double-row bearings and diode protection to suppress transient voltage.
